together we APPLY

Are you feeling confused and overwhelmed by the various programs designed to support your family? Not sure which applications to complete, how to fill them out, what you are applying for, or maybe you're just too tired to handle it all on your own? This program offers comprehensive assistance to families needing support with applications for the Katie Beckett, CHIPRA, HIPP, Family Support, and NOW/COMP programs. We also provide family support funding and private pay options to help ensure your applications are completed accurately and submitted to the appropriate agencies. Read below to learn more about which programs might be the best fit for your family's needs.

Katie Beckett

The Katie Beckett Medicaid Insurance program provides secondary medical and therapeutic insurance coverage for families. Offered by the state of Georgia, it helps families afford necessary therapies and medical care that might otherwise be unaffordable due to high co-pays and deductibles. Unlike many other programs, Katie Beckett is not based on family income, making it accessible to families who wouldn't typically qualify for social security or low-income Medicaid.

CHIPRA/HIPP

The Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) and Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) programs are insurance premium reimbursement programs offered by the Georgia Medicaid department. These programs help families receive reimbursement for premiums paid by an employee for health insurance provided through an employer.

Family Support

The Family Support program is a Medicaid initiative that does not require families to meet low-income criteria. Available to families with children aged three and older, it provides up to $3,000 per year for services such as caregivers, respite care, camps, recreational activities, and therapies not covered by private insurance or Medicaid. There are multiple agencies in Georgia offering this support, each assigned to specific counties. Contact us to find out which agency serves your county so we can help you access these valuable resources.

NOW/COMP

The NOW (New Options Waiver)/COMP (Comprehensive) waiver is a Medicaid waiver program designed to replace the support provided by public schools, catering to adults with disabilities who have graduated from high school or aged out of the Georgia public school system at age 22. To be eligible, individuals must be considered low-income (based solely on their own income), receive social security income and straight Medicaid insurance, and have a full-scale IQ score of 70 or below. This waiver provides funding to help families cover the cost of essential services such as day programs, community access with a 1:1 facilitator, overnight or hourly respite care, personalized 1:1 support in the home, transportation costs, and other services that are typically not covered by private medical insurance or standard Medicaid insurance.
